GENERAL MANDATE of IPC-PHILCOM
§ To ensure peace and order by making certain that all local and international laws, declaration and ordinances relative to the protection of lives and properties are enforced.
§ To investigate and prevent crimes especially those involving foreign nationals.
§ To exercise the general powers to make arrest, searches and seizures in accordance with the Constitution and other pertinent local and international law and detaining arrested persons for a period not beyond what is prescribed by law, informing persons so detained of all his/her rights under Constitution.
§ To bring such criminal offenders to justice and assist in their prosecutions.
§ To assist, escort and provide security to both local and foreign dignitaries and citizens both here and abroad.
§ To assist the government in humanitarian, socio-civic and peacekeeping operations.
§ To be a catalyst for social development through socio-civic and economic development programs and projects.
